David Vanderhook, RA

Project Manager, Senior Associate
“Architecture provides the framework for the experience.”

Philosophy

David was initially drawn to healthcare architecture because it allows him to use his diverse experience to create solutions for technically challenging projects. Another perk is that these types of projects result in places that will serve the community for years to come.

As a member of our specialized hospital planning division, he leads the design team, creates design documents, obtains agency approvals, and guides the contractor throughout the construction phase. David takes a team approach at all stages, reinforcing the need for a team approach to succeed in achieving the project team’s common goals.

Tidbit

When his daughters were young, they were pretty involved in sports. He and his wife attended every game, even when he wasn’t managing or coaching the team. By the time their grandsons came of age, the family was well-prepared to support their activities.  David also discovered late in life that he and his wife have a shared love of golf, although he admits she beats him every time.
