Eisenhower Health Annenberg Pavilion

The Eisenhower Medical Center, located in the heart of the Coachella Valley, showcases a captivating architectural blend of mid-century Modernist design and contemporary elements, resulting in a distinctive and timeless aesthetic. As the major regional medical center serving the thriving desert communities, our five-story, 251,260-square-foot inpatient care unit houses 160 private medical, surgical, telemetry, and critical care beds. To meet the area’s fluctuating seasonal demand for healthcare, the Annenberg Pavilion adds 88 expansion beds, ensuring high-quality care is always available when the community needs it most.

Our architectural vision focuses on seamlessly integrating soft, humane interiors with exceptional design, creating a therapeutic healing environment. Patient rooms provide a luxurious setting for patients and their families while delivering a functional space for medical professionals to provide top-notch care. Special amenities, including family areas, window-beds for overnight stays, and hotel-like suites, enhance the patient experience.

Constructing the Annenberg Pavilion presented significant challenges, including the preservation and respect for the original Eisenhower hospital building, designed by renowned mid-century Modernist architect Edward Durell Stone. Our design solution seamlessly integrates with the original hospital, which was built over 50 years ago. In addition to honoring the architectural heritage, the project embraces the functional and highly technological aspects of modern healthcare delivery. Another obstacle we successfully overcame was the need to relocate 35 utility lines while maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations throughout the process.

The unwavering commitment of our entire team allowed us to create a state-of-the-art facility that harmonizes with its surroundings and honors the legacy of the existing structures. The Walter and Leonore Annenberg Pavilion takes great pride in contributing to the enduring legacy of Eisenhower Health, which remains dedicated to providing advanced care to the residents of the Coachella Valley and beyond.
